New PowerShell Event Creator for Operations Manager 2007

Found this as a result of a discussion I had with one of the delegates on my SC OM course this week. We were talking about generating test events and having used the MOM 2005 version for a long time I was interested in this PowerShell version.

You can find it here :

PowerShell repository

Came across this today. Thought it would be really useful to share, particularly as PowerShell is becoming more widely accepted by the Microsoft Admin’s.

Using Lync 2010 client in Office Communications Server 2007 R2 environment

Like most people using Lync I have always assumed that we could not use the Lync client to talk to an OCS R2 pool. Appears that I was wrong! Not only is it possible but very easy. Have a look at the following blog and if you can, test it out!

My colleague Matt has made the change and he reports that he is able indeed to use a Lync client to access our OCSR2 pool. But he reports that he is not getting any address book synchronisation, as of when we were discussing this! Might be that today he is getting an ABS sync but as he is on holiday!!

So have a look at the blog. Here it is:

SCOM Management Pack Authoring

One of the really cool things about SCOM is the ability to create your own Management Packs.

You can do it with in the OM console or you can use the MP Authoring tool, but that's a bit complicated and takes time to learn. What you need is some help. Jonathan Almquist has compiled a list of links which show you how to author management packs.

System Center Operations Manager blogs

I came across the two blogs today! One was recommended by a friend at Microsoft, and I was told to read “everything” on it! With a recommendation like that how could I refuse?

The blog is Kevin Holman's System Center Blog and you can find it here:

The other blog is Jonathan Almquist on Operations Manager

and can be found here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/jonathanalmquist/
