Like most people using Lync I have always assumed that we could not use the Lync client to talk to an OCS R2 pool. Appears that I was wrong! Not only is it possible but very easy. Have a look at the following blog and if you can, test it out!
My colleague Matt has made the change and he reports that he is able indeed to use a Lync client to access our OCSR2 pool. But he reports that he is not getting any address book synchronisation, as of when we were discussing this! Might be that today he is getting an ABS sync but as he is on holiday!!
